By all accounts, the Benefit on Sunday, October 10 was a great success - spiritually, socially, financially. Good to see so many people there - old friends and new. Great support for the ministry of BSC. Thanks to all who were there and all who worked so hard to make it happen. The spirit of the day continues to fill many of us with joy, gratitude and blessings!

Prayer in honor of

Blessed Gennaro Maria Sarnelli

Naples, Italy

Holy Redeemer, we place ourselves in your presence confident that you are a loving and merciful God. You walk with us by day and by night as we strive to minister your gospel with compassion to people who are poor and abandoned. As we reach out to those most in need, we look to Blessed Sarnelli as a model and help. His ardent desire was to bring people on the fringes of society and church to a deeper knowledge and love of you. We pray that his zeal will inspire and motivate us to share your love with people who are marginalized. We remember especially people who make poor decisions that lead to destructive and addictive lives. May our choices be those of Blessed Sarnelli who continually lived the gospel in their midst, in spite of adversity and opposition. We ask his help that our commitment may remain steadfast. For, as we become one with those who are outcast, we become one with you our loving God. Amen.

Welcome to our new virtual chapel. As a faith-based community in the Catholic tradition, we thought we would post some readings, reflections and other items of inspiration and spiritual information on this page from time to time. As we strive to meet the needs of people who are poor and abandoned, it is essential we remember our call to prayer as a means of growing closer to God and the gospel of Jesus Christ. With prayer, we keep in mind the true nature of our ministry – that is giving witness and testimony to the compassion and mercy of an all-loving God who embraces people in all walks of live, particularly the poorest and most vulnerable among us. Keeping a prayerful perspective helps to remember the presence of Jesus in all people.

Compassionate Christ,

be with us as we strive to help others in need.

Help us to be neighbor to one another,

especially people who are neglected and overlooked,

those who are bypassed and left for dead.

Walk with us during the day and night.

Lead us and those we serve on the journey

home to heaven, where we long to see you face to face.
